Ortopedic examination

Procedure of an Orthopedic

Patient History

The orthopedic examination begins with a thorough and comprehensive patient history, during which the doctor learns about the patient's complaints: the exact location, duration, and circumstances of the pain, as well as any previous injuries, surgeries, or other musculoskeletal problems. For an experienced orthopedic specialist, the patient's movement and posture already reveal a lot—these subtle signs often help detect early-stage conditions in time.

Physical Examination

This is followed by a physical examination, during which the range of motion, joint stability, tender points, gait, and posture are carefully observed.

If necessary, the specialist may also recommend imaging studies—X-ray, MRI, CT, or ultrasound—to establish an accurate diagnosis.

The goal is to identify the underlying causes of the symptoms and to develop a treatment plan that ensures long-term pain-free movement and improved quality of life.
